2023 KTM adventure bikes : The 790 and 890 Adventure get updates for the 2023 model year that include exterior changes, new colors, updated suspension and a revised electronics package.

KTM has revealed the 2023 model year updates for its 790 and 890 Adventure motorcycles. Both bikes received some cosmetic updates and improvements to the electronic package.

2023 790 KTM Adventure bikes

The 2023 KTM 790 Adventure continues to use the 799cc side-twin engine as always. The engine develops 95 hp of power and 88 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. In terms of exterior changes, the bike gets a larger front fairing that joins the side panels, a larger windshield and two new colors – one black and one white. For 2023, the bike is also fitted with new Pirelli Scorpion STR tires that are better suited for off-road use.

The 5-inch TFT instrument panel now has redesigned menus and is brighter. A new demo mode has been added, allowing riders to use the full suite of electronic features such as Quickshifter+ or separately purchased cruise control after the first 1,500 km.

The 2023 KTM 890 Adventure gets similar updates to its smaller sibling, including an updated fairing, a larger windshield and two new color options. The bike also features reworked WP Apex suspension with 43mm USD front forks and a rear shock with 200mm of travel.

Both are fully adjustable unlike the preload adjustment on the 790 Adventure. The seat is optimized for greater comfort, while the steering wheel has an integrated emergency alarm switch. The bike is also equipped with new Pirelli Scorpion STR tires.

The electronic aids have also been updated for the 2023 model year. This includes cornering ABS, which uses data from the 6D sensor to improve safety and stability during ABS braking.

Off-road ABS automatically engages when the motorcycle is put into off-road riding mode, disabling both rear-wheel ABS and lean angle-dependent ABS. The 2023 KTM 890 Adventure features a new 5-inch TFT instrument display and redesigned graphics for easier and faster access to features.

The bike also has a huge 20-liter tank, which should extend its range to almost 450 kilometers. In order to reduce costs, the 890 Adventure now has fully adjustable WP suspension at both ends, while the 790 Adventure has a 43mm WP Apex unit up front with a preload-adjustable mainshock. A new 6-axis inertial control unit that supports lean-sensitive traction control, a Power Assist Slipper Clutch, and cornering ABS are added to the KTM 790 Adventure. Each of the three riding modes—Rain, Street, and Off-Road—includes the ABS mode.

A new throttle body, new injectors, a new exhaust system, and even a knock sensor are some of the modifications made to the 790cc parallel-twin engine, which produces 95PS at 8,000 rpm and 88Nm at 6,500 rpm.

The ABS settings have also been tweaked on the up to date bikes. Its sensitivity may be adjusted depending on the driving mode. Switching to Rally Mode robotically disables the rear ABS.
