Jio 5G: Major Indian telecom operator Jio is rapidly rolling out 5G network connectivity across the country. Mukesh Ambani, head of telecommunications, is the first major Indian telecom operator to set up a standalone 5G (SA) network. This means that Reliance network connection does not rely on the existing 4G core. Instead, the standalone 5G architecture is based on an end-to-end core 5G network built from the ground up.

Jio, in particular, offers users 5G connectivity by invitation. Dubbed as Reliance True 5G, the telecom operator has rolled out its 5G network in around 50 Indian cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Varanasi, Ahmedabad and more.

Tuesday saw the launch of Reliance services in Assam and 7 additional cities spread across 4 states: Kerala (Chertala), Telangana (Warangal, Karimnagar), Karnataka (Hubli-Dharwad, Mangalore), and Maharashtra (Solapur). Jio customers in these cities will be invited to take advantage of the Reliance Welcome Offer, which offers unlimited data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps at no extra cost.

At its AGM in 2022, Reliance announced the launch of its 5G services. Specifically, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Varanasi, Chennai, and Hyderabad were the first Indian cities in which the company launched the program.

The Jio Welcome offer from Reliance is a 5G invitation-only promotion. Those who have a Reliance SIM and live in a city that supports 5G will be invited to take advantage of the Jio Welcome offer. Jio users who accept the invitation will also receive benefits from their current recharges as well as additional, limitless 5G data.

As long as the base plan is still in effect and active, the additional unlimited Reliance data will function. Through notifications, the invited clients will be updated. The MyJio app can also be used to check the same information.

Jio has also introduced a 5G data upgrade plan for customers with active plans that don’t cost more than Rs 239. The plan is available on the Rs 119, Rs 149, Rs 179, Rs 199, and Rs 209 prepaid plans, and it costs Rs 61. The 6GB of data included in this plan, after which speeds will drop to 64kbps, has the same validity as your current plan.

Additionally, Jio has begun offering 5G services in ten cities: Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Meerut, Tirupati, Nellore, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Nagpur, and Ahmednagar. With the most recent rollout, Reliance is now accessible in 85 cities overall. By year’s end, the company hopes to have coverage throughout all of India.

Reliance in more cities
At the 45th Reliance Jio Annual General Meeting, the telecom operator announced that it will roll out 5G in major cities of India by the end of 2022. In addition, the telecom operator is targeting PAN India 5G coverage by December 2023.

Reliance welcome offer
Since Reliance offers 5G connectivity by invitation, users living in 5G-enabled cities with 5G-enabled smartphones will receive the invitation. After receiving the 5G invitation, Jio users will be able to use unlimited 5G data along with the existing rights under active upgrades/subscriptions. The additional unlimited 5G data is valid as long as the validity of the active basic subscription is valid.

In addition, Jio welcome offer will be available to Jio customers who are mostly in good coverage area of ​​5G network and have valid active prepaid or postpaid plan. According to Jio, customers with an active subscription of Rs 239 or more can only enjoy 5G services.

Customers of Jio in these ten cities can use 5G services as of right now. However, you must be enrolled in a plan costing Rs 239 or more in order to use Jio’s 5G. You can check if you are eligible by going to the MyJio app and signing in with your registered Jio number. Jio will send you the Welcome Offer invite if you are. As a result, starting today, Jio users in these cities can benefit from unlimited data at faster speeds at no additional cost.

In order to cover the entire nation by the end of December 2023, Reliance Jio is deploying 5G SA (standalone) in India. For use with Reliance Jio 5G services, a smartphone with 5G Standalone support is required.

In the cities of Hindupur, Madanapalle, Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh; Raigarh – Chhattisgarh; Talcher – Odisha; Patiala – Punjab; Alwar – Rajasthan; Mancherial – Telangana; Gorakhpur – Uttar Pradesh; and Roorkee – Uttarakhand, Jio has introduced 5G. There are 236 Indian cities where Jio 5G services are currently available.

How to activate Reliance
If you received Jio welcome but still can’t connect to 5G network-

Open the “Settings” app on your smartphone.
Go to “Mobile networks”.
Now select the Jio SIM card.
Now tap on the “Preferred network type” option.
And now select the 5G network type.
