Unlike regular where points are scored consecutively, the NBA features three separate quarters and a special fourth quarter with an Elam finish.
Both teams race to win the first three quarters of 12 minutes each. The score is reset to 0-0 at the start of each new quarter.
In place of the fourth quarter game clock, there is a special final goal score to determine the championship. The final score is determined by adding the leading team’s total points in the first three quarters, which reflects Bryant’s jersey number, to the 24 points. The team that reaches the final goal score first is declared the winner of the game.
